Victoria Monét McCants (born May 1, 1989) was born in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. She is a multi-talented American singer, songwriter and record producer. With a passion for performing arts that started at a young age, she sang in the youth choir at her church and was part of a city dance team. She is professionally known as Victoria Monét. As she grew older, she developed a keen interest in writing music and began collaborating with renowned producer Rodney Jerkins.

Monét's musical journey began when she signed with Atlantic Records and released her debut EP, Nightmares & Lullabies: Act 1, in 2014. The EP was well-received and was followed by a second one, Nightmares & Lullabies: Act 2, in 2015. Monét continued to build on her success with the release of two more EPs, Life After Love, Pt. 1 and Life After Love, Pt. 2 in February and September 2018, respectively.

However, her biggest achievement yet was the release of her debut album, Jaguar, in two parts. Part one of the album was released on August 7, 2020, and was met with critical acclaim for its captivating lyrics and soulful R&B sound.

Aside from her successful solo career, Monét has also made a name for herself as a prolific songwriter. She has written songs for a diverse range of artists such as Nas, Ariana Grande, Fifth Harmony, T.I., GOOD Music, Lupe Fiasco, Chrisette Michele, Coco Jones, Chris Brown, and Dirty Money. In 2019, Monét was nominated for two Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year for her work on Grande's Thank U, Next and Record of the Year for "7 Rings".
