Im Na-yeon (born September 22, 1995) was born in Seoul, South Korea. She is professionally known as Nayeon. She is a South Korean singer known for being a member of the popular South Korean girl group Twice. Twice was formed by JYP Entertainment through a reality show called Sixteen in 2015. Nayeon was one of the nine members who were chosen to be in the group.
In June 2022, Nayeon started her solo career by releasing her first extended play (EP) titled "Im Nayeon." This EP was very successful, reaching the top of the Circle Album Chart in South Korea and selling over 500,000 copies. It also peaked at number seven on the US Billboard 200, making Nayeon the first South Korean solo artist to enter the top 10 of this chart. The lead single from the EP, "Pop!," was also very popular, reaching number two on South Korea's Circle Digital Chart and making it into the top ten in six other countries.
Nayeon's success continued in 2024 with the release of her second EP, titled "Na." This EP also topped the Circle Album Chart and entered the top ten of the US Billboard 200. This made it her second number-one entry on the Circle Album Chart and her second top-ten entry on the US Billboard 200.
Nayeon first became well-known in 2015 when she took part in Sixteen, the reality show that led to the creation of Twice. She debuted with Twice in October 2015 with their first EP, "The Story Begins." As a solo artist, Nayeon has won several awards, including her first music show win on SBS Inkigayo in July 2022 and Best Female Artist at the 2022 MAMA Awards. Her second EP "Na" was announced by JYP Entertainment on May 13, 2024, and was released on June 14, 2024.
