"The Migos" is a highly influential American hip hop group hailing from Lawrenceville, Georgia. Established in 2008, the group initially consisted of Quavo, Takeoff, and Offset, all of whom brought their unique Southern rap styles to create a dynamic blend. Quavo originates from Athens, Georgia, while Offset and Takeoff were born and raised in the neighboring town of Lawrenceville.

Guided by the experienced manager Coach K, who had previously worked with renowned artists like Gucci Mane and Jeezy, Migos frequently collaborated with top-tier producers such as DJ Durel, Murda Beatz, Zaytoven, and Buddah Bless. Their contributions to trap music in the 2010s earned them recognition from Billboard, with the publication acknowledging their influence on pop culture and their impact on the English language by bringing their North Atlanta roots to the mainstream.

Migos made their commercial debut with the release of the single "Versace" in 2013, which was featured on their mixtape Y.R.N. (Young Rich Niggas). This was followed by a string of successful singles including "Fight Night" (2014) and "Look at My Dab" (2015). However, it was their collaboration with Lil Uzi Vert on the chart-topping hit "Bad and Boujee" (2016) that propelled them to new heights of fame. The group continued their success with "MotorSport" (featuring Nicki Minaj and Cardi B) (2017), "Stir Fry" (2018), and "Walk It Talk It" (featuring Drake) (2018), all of which achieved top 10 positions on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

In July 2015, Migos released their debut album, Yung Rich Nation, under the labels Quality Control Music and 300 Entertainment. The group's second album, Culture, arrived in January 2017 and debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart. Building on their momentum, Migos signed a deal with Motown and Capitol Records in February 2017. They subsequently released their third album, Culture II, in January 2018, which also reached the top spot on the charts. Notably, Migos became known for their participation in the first season of the critically acclaimed television series Atlanta, where they portrayed fictionalized versions of themselves.

Tragically, on November 1, 2022, the group experienced a devastating loss when Takeoff was fatally shot in Houston, Texas. The untimely passing of one of its members left both the music industry and fans worldwide mourning the talented artist's absence. Despite this heartbreaking setback, Migos continued to honor Takeoff's memory by releasing their fourth album, Culture III, in 2021. Serving as the final installment in their revered Culture trilogy, the album paid homage to their fallen comrade while solidifying their status as one of hip hop's most influential groups. Migos' impact on the genre, coupled with their resilience in the face of tragedy, has undoubtedly left an indelible mark on the music industry.
