Kesha Rose Sebert (born March 1, 1987) was born in Los Angeles, California, United States. She is an American singer and songwriter. She is professionally known as Ke$ha or Kesha. At the young age of 18, she was signed to Kemosabe Records, and her breakthrough came in early 2009 when she was featured on American rapper Flo Rida's chart-topping single "Right Round."

Despite her success, Kesha's career was put on hold between her albums "Warrior" and "Rainbow" due to a legal dispute with her former producer Dr. Luke, which began in 2014. This ongoing dispute, known as Kesha v. Dr. Luke, involved a series of lawsuits in which Kesha accused Dr. Luke of physical, sexual, and emotional abuse, as well as employment discrimination against her. Dr. Luke, in turn, claimed breach of contract and defamation by Kesha.

Despite the setback, Kesha has had a successful career, having reportedly sold over 33 million combined tracks and ringtones in the U.S alone and over 55 million worldwide to date, as of 2013. Additionally, she was listed as the 26th top artist on Billboard's 2010s decade-end charts. Kesha has also received various awards and nominations, including the MTV Europe Music Award for Best New Act in 2010. She has also co-written songs for other artists, such as "Till the World Ends" for Britney Spears in 2011, as well as songs for Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, and Miranda Cosgrove. Despite her legal battle with Dr. Luke, Kesha has continued to release music and tour, and she remains a beloved figure in the music industry.
