George Ezra Barnett (born June 7, 1993) was born in Hertford, England. He is a British singer-songwriter. He is professionally known as George Ezra, Known for his deep, soulful voice. He rose to fame in 2014 with his hit single “Budapest.” Growing up, Ezra was inspired by Bob Dylan and Woody Guthrie, which heavily influenced his folk-pop music style. He studied at the British and Irish Modern Music Institute in Bristol before diving into the music scene.

His debut album, Wanted on Voyage (2014), topped the UK charts and brought international success. "Budapest" became a global hit, landing in the top ten in several countries. The album’s warm, upbeat vibe resonated with audiences, leading to his rapid rise. His follow-up album, Staying at Tamara’s (2018), continued his success with singles like "Paradise" and "Shotgun," the latter of which became his first UK No. 1.
