Nayeon is a South Korean singer and a member of the popular girl group Twice. Twice is a group with nine members, and Nayeon is one of them. She started her journey in the entertainment industry as a child when she took part in a modeling contest and was noticed by JYP Entertainment. Even though her mother didn't want her to join show business at a young age, Nayeon went to JYP Entertainment's audition secretly on September 15, 2010, and became a trainee.
In 2013, Nayeon was supposed to debut in a girl group called 6mix, but the group never debuted. She also appeared in a TV show called Dream High 2 in 2012. In 2015, Nayeon joined a reality show called Sixteen. This show was a competition to decide who would be in a new JYP Entertainment girl group named Twice. Nayeon was one of the nine winners and officially debuted with Twice in October 2015. Their first EP was called The Story Begins.
On May 19, 2022, it was announced that Nayeon would debut as a solo artist. She released her first solo EP, Im Nayeon, on June 24, 2022. On July 10, 2022, she won her first music show award on SBS Inkigayo. Later that year, she won the Best Female Artist award at the 2022 MAMA Awards.
