Mura Masa, the electronic music producer and songwriter, has had a prolific career since his debut in 2013. He gained recognition for his unique sound and impressive collaborations. In 2015, Crossan signed with his own label, Anchor Point Records, in partnership with Polydor Records and Interscope Records, to distribute his music in the UK and North America, respectively. The label has also released music by Dublin artist Bonzai and the post-music duo Jadu Heart.

Crossan's debut EP, "Someday Somewhere," was released in April 2015 and featured UK vocalists Nao, Denai Moore, and Jay Prince. The lead track "Firefly" was selected for BBC Radio 1's In New Music We Trust playlist, and the track "Lovesick" topped the Spotify Viral charts in both the UK and US. Later that year, he broadcast a 60-minute mix on BBC Radio 1's Diplo and Friends. He was long-listed for the BBC Sound of 2016 and placed fifth overall in January 2016.

In 2016, Crossan released "What If I Go?" and a revamped version of "Lovesick," featuring American rapper ASAP Rocky. The collaboration with Rocky came about during Rocky's stay in London, resulting in a music video released in November 2016. Crossan also co-wrote "First Things First" on Stormzy's album "Gang Signs & Prayer," which topped the UK Albums Chart in March 2017.

In March 2017, Mura Masa released "1 Night" with Charli XCX, and his self-titled debut studio album followed on July 14, 2017. The album, featuring artists like A. K. Paul, Bonzai, Christine and the Queens, Damon Albarn, and Desiigner, debuted at number 19 on the UK Albums Chart and at 192 on the US Billboard 200. It earned Grammy nominations for Best Dance/Electronic Album and Best Recording Package.

In 2018, Crossan collaborated with Nile Rodgers on Chic's comeback album, "It's About Time," and featured on the single "Till the World Falls" alongside Cosha and Vic Mensa.
