Charli XCX announced "Brat" on February 28, 2024, just a day before "Von Dutch" hit the airwaves. She considers "Brat" her "most aggressive and confrontational record" yet, while also being her most vulnerable. During a Boiler Room warehouse set on February 22, Charli XCX debuted snippets of tracks "Spring Breakers" and "365," performing alongside Addison Rae and Julia Fox. The performance was a precursor to the release of a "Von Dutch" remix featuring Rae and A. G. Cook on March 22. Charli continued to build anticipation by premiering the track "So I" at the Billboard Women in Music event on March 6. Further promoting the album, she released "Club Classics" and "B2B" as a two-pack promotional single on April 3.

The lead-up to the album included significant buzz around "360," which was teased for several days before its official release on May 10.
