Astroworld (2018) Lyrics – Travis Scott

English 785 August 3, 2018

"Astroworld" the third studio album by Travis Scott, was released on August 3, 2018, under Cactus Jack Records, Grand Hustle Records, and distributed by Epic Records. It succeeded his second studio album, Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight, released in 2016, and the collaborative album Huncho Jack, Jack Huncho, released in 2017 with Quavo.

The album showcases a variety of guest vocals from prominent artists like The Weeknd, Kid Cudi, Frank Ocean, Drake, James Blake, Philip Bailey, 21 Savage, Swae Lee, Gunna, Nav, Quavo, Takeoff, Juice Wrld, Sheck Wes, and Don Toliver, among others. Production duties were shared among several producers, including Travis Scott himself, Mike Dean, Allen Ritter, Hit-Boy, WondaGurl, Tay Keith, Tame Impala, Frank Dukes, Sonny Digital, Murda Beatz, and Thundercat.

Astroworld's title is a reference to the now-defunct theme park, Six Flags AstroWorld, situated in Houston, Texas. Being a Houston native, Travis Scott aimed to create an album that would feel like "taking an amusement park away from kids." Furthermore, he described it as an extension of his debut album, Rodeo, released in 2015.

The album offers a blend of hip hop and psychedelic rap, incorporating elements of trap and psychedelic music. Astroworld is supported by four hit singles: "Butterfly Effect," "Sicko Mode," "Yosemite," and "Wake Up."

Astroworld received widespread critical acclaim and became a commercial success, debuting at number one on the US Billboard 200 with 537,000 album-equivalent units, of which 270,000 were pure sales. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certified the album triple platinum. In addition, it won Album of the Year at the 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards. Several publications have named Astroworld as one of the best albums of 2018 and the decade. Below you can find a to z all track details, with lyrics and videos.
